I'm so happy! I recieved a call the day before yesterday from the Chicago Lighthouse saying that I was one of their scholarship winners. Out of 70 applicants, they chose 15 winners, and I happen to be one of them. I won $2000 scholarship money for college, and I also won a paid internship from the NFB about $1500 and another scholarship $750 from Blind Services Association. I'm so happy I won some money for college. I feel like celebrating. Smiles

That's fantastic! Congratulations. It says a lot about you and your capabilities that you were able to obtain that much financial assistance based on who you are. Keep it up!

congrats.

the nfb scollarship winners were really lucky this year, not only did they get 3000, but they also got from Ray, Kurzweol, a knfb mobal, 1000 dollars extra and a voucher to buy k1000.

Makes me want to go back to school fulltime for that sort of thing. lol

I won another award. I just recieved it today in the mail. I won the Mary F. English Technology Award through the College of Education at my school. They will give me a computer, printer, and supplies for two years. They will also provide assistive technology training workshops. I feel very happy because I got most of the scholarships that I applied to. Now, I don't have to worry about buying a new computer. I'm so happy. I'm so lucky this year, my hard work paid off pretty well. Soon though, I would have to worry about how to pay for the next semester, but for now, i'll smile and think about it later.
